UC Irvine’s Gynecologic Oncology Division treats a full spectrum of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulvar cancers. The clinical schedule includes 2–4 half-day clinics, 2–4 half-day operating room blocks, and one half-day protected for administrative duties. Robotics are available, with Da Vinci (dV5 and Xi units) systems on-site, offering advanced minimally invasive surgeries.
The clinical team operates across multiple sites, including UCI Medical Center, Long Beach Memorial, and St. Joseph’s, with the potential addition of Fountain Valley. The division director will help coordinate care between these hospitals, ensuring efficient call coverage and clinical trial involvement. Infusion centers are available at the Irvine and Orange campuses for patients receiving chemotherapy.
Call duties are shared among five faculty members and fellows, with fellows taking the first call. The division director is expected to manage this call burden and address any ongoing staffing needs, particularly at Long Beach, where there is currently a gap in senior faculty coverage.
Research is a significant component of this position, with clinical trials and mentorship of junior faculty and fellows expected.
