Due to the growing need in the community, Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is looking additional Gastroenterologist to join Dr. Linas Adams. This practice pulls from 13 counties and can easily support 5 busy GIs! This is a general GI opportunity but if you have an interest in advanced procedures (ERCP/EUS), we can certainly accommodate that. Dr. Adams will even proctor you. The incoming GI will be as busy as they want to be. Dr. Adams currently has a current wait time of 6 months and they are literally turning away patients. If you want a busy GI practice, this is it. According to Dr. Adams, “You’ll have a full patient panel within 3 months.”
Dr. Adams is a work horse, but they are not expecting the incoming GI to mirror his schedule. Currently, he’ll see patients in the clinic, does procedures including (ERCP/EUS) rounds in the hospital, takes call almost every day, and teaches medical students. He’s been in the area since 1988 and plans on retiring here. He’s a huge outdoorsman and loves the area. He’s looking to slow down eventually and will even refer patients your way. He’s independent and is not employed by Morristown-Hamblen directly (by choice) but he is your colleague. Dr. Adams is emotionally invested in seeing you succeed. He will do whatever he can to help. He’s also hilarious!!! It’s a very collegial atmosphere with no tension. It sounds like a fun place to work.
There are a lot of younger nurses, but the seasoned nurses are very skilled and have a great relationship with the patients. Morristown encourages physicians to share the areas that nurses can use additional training and experience to help them be better prepared. Many of the physicians enjoy participating in helping with this additional education which has created a great flow and structure amongst all providers.
