Compensation That Reflects Your Expertise and Commitment

Your compensation package through Touro University Medical Group (TUMG) is designed to recognize the unique value you bring as a clinician-educator. The model balances financial security with growth opportunity, offering a generous base salary along with structured productivity incentives and a full suite of benefits to support your professional and personal well-being.

You will start with a 2-year income guarantee set at $350,000, which aligns closely with MGMA median benchmarks for psychiatrists in the Western U.S. During this period, your performance will be monitored using a productivity model based on wRVUs. At the end of the guarantee, your compensation transitions to an ongoing salary plus RVU bonus structure. Physicians who exceed the 75th percentile productivity threshold (currently 3,355 RVUs) are eligible for a salary increase up to $419,000. The program is designed to be transparent, supportive, and aligned with national fair market value expectations.

Comprehensive Benefits Package

  • Base Compensation: $350,000 income guarantee for the first 2 years

  • Paid Time Off:
  • 152 hours PTO (equivalent to 4 weeks)

  • Early close at 3 p.m. on holidays and observances
  • Work Week: 38-hour workweek allowing for work-life balance
  • Continuing Medical Education:
  • 5 days of CME leave
  • $2,500 CME allowance
  • Insurance & Retirement:
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance for the employee (80% for dependents)
  • Vision and dental coverage
  • 401k with 3.5% match (increasing to 6% over time)
  • Long-term disability fully covered
  • Short-term disability provided
  • $50,000 life and AD&D insurance
  • Professional Support:
  • Reimbursement for California medical license, DEA, and credentialing fees
  • Paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage
  • Up to $800 annually for professional society membership dues

Your contract will be standardized through TUMG to ensure equity across all physician hires. Once you sign a Letter of Intent, formal documents from both TUMG and St. Joseph’s Medical Center will be issued. Although the contract cannot be modified, it reflects a well-structured and competitive offering that prioritizes physician stability and satisfaction.
