Palm Springs offers year-round warm weather and sunny skies with lush Palm trees and grass from their 100+ golf courses, while also being in the midst of an 11,000-foot snow-capped mountain backdrop in the winter. 

Clinic Component, Cont. 

You’d be joining a turn-key practice and collegial team in this employed position. The group’s clinical and procedural volume is up 22% from last year so there is an immediate need for growth. This is a General Gastroenterology position, and no advanced procedures are required.

Clinically, this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm split between clinic and procedures – advanced procedures are not required. You’ll be seeing approximately 14-16 patients per day when in clinic and Eisenhower’s experienced Hospitalist team will admit your patients for you. Dr. Kanagala currently does all the advanced procedures including, but not limited to, ERCP and EUS.

This is a General Gastroenterology position where you can jump into a turn-key practice and be busy from Day 1. They currently have 2 locations for clinic space, four endoscopy suites, and Dr. Hackshaw and their administrative time are already working to expand their space because of the consistent growth. They recently remodeled one of the offices that is a 5,000 sq. ft. space, consisting of 20 exam rooms, 10 physician offices, and a dedicated procedural room.

Eisenhower has 75+ employed Primary Care physicians referring to you, in addition to other physicians in the area that will be referring to you due to the reputation Eisenhower has built and maintained. The GI’s have a great working relationship with General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, and Interventional Radiology. Additionally, Eisenhower a joint hospital venture in an Ambulatory Surgery Center that offers potential Partnership buy-in. Dr. Hackshaw or Scott Fitzgerald can discuss some of those details with you. 

Eisenhower Gastroenterology Specialty Clinic

  • Screening colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening 
  • Diagnostic colonoscopy 
  • Upper endoscopy 
  • Placement of PEG tubes for feeding difficulties 
  • Endoscopic ablation treatment of Barrett’s esophagus 
  • Video capsule endoscopy study of esophagus and small bowel 
  • Esophageal high-resolution motility studies 
  • Esophageal ph impedance recordings 
  • Anorectal motility 

Disease Management for adults (over the age of 18)

  • Second opinions for gastroenterology 
  • Management of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis 
  • Gastroesophageal reflux evaluation 
  • Diagnosis of suspected GI malignancies 
  • Diagnosis and evaluation of GI bleeding 
  • Evaluation of swallowing difficulties 
  • Evaluation of diarrhea and malabsorption disorders 
  • Evaluation of bariatric surgery post-operative issues 
  • Evaluation of liver diseases 
  • Evaluation of abdominal pain

Call Schedule

Call is one week of ER call every 9 weeks (the 6 GI’s in the group, you, and 2 other GI’s that share in call). The Hospitalists with Eisenhower are very proficient and admit all GI patients. There is a nightly stipend associated with call. You will only be covering one hospital.
